On April 22-28th 2013 the famous scientist in the field of tribology and bearings – Dr. Hab. Michel Fillon will visit the Sumy State University at the invitation of the General Mechanics and Machine Dynamics Department. Currently he is a CNRS Director of Research in the “Institut Pprime - UPR 3346” at the University of Poitiers (France). His research interests are both experimental and theoretical investigations of hydrodynamic journal and thrust bearings (TEHD regime, mixed lubrication, textured surfaces, etc.).

Dr. Hab. Michel Fillon is a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and a Fellow of the Society of Tribology and Lubrication Engineers (STLE). From 2006 to 2008, he was the Chair of Research Committee of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Tribology Division, and from 2003 to 2009 he has been an Associate Editor of "ASME Journal of Tribology". Dr. Hab. Michel Fillon is still a board member of such journals: "Mechanics and Industries" ("Mécanique & Industries"), "Journal of Engineering Tribology", "International Journal of Surface Science and Engineering", "Advance in Tribology" and "International Journal of Applied Rheology and Engineering Sciences".

On April 25-26th, Dr. Hab. Michel Fillon will give four lectures on the problems of hydrodynamic bearings in English for students of the Sumy State University and for Ukrainian and Russian specialists from engineering enterprises. In addition, representatives of the Sumy engineering industry, in particular, the experts of "TRIZ" LTD, will share their experience of designing and practical application of hydrodynamic bearings. Lectures will take place in the auditorium H-110 of new Academic Building of the Sumy State University, lectures will be started at 09:50 am.
The General Mechanics and Machine Dynamics Department of the Sumy State University invites everyone interested experts on lectures and offers to take an active part in further discussion. Entrance to the lecture is free.
