Scientists of the Volodymyr Martsynkovskyy Computational Mechanics Department Receive Awards for Science Day
On May 18, the scientific community of Ukraine celebrates the professional holiday – Science Day. On this occasion, the scientists of the Volodymyr Martsynkovskyy Computational Mechanics Department were honored with awards for their outstanding achievements in scientific activity.
Andriy Zagorulko received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for his significant contribution to the development of science and education.
Ivan Pavlenko was awarded an Honorary Certificate from the Sumy Regional State Administration for his substantial contribution to scientific activity.
We congratulate our colleagues on their awards and wish them continued success in their scientific endeavors!
Vocational guidance work
In April, a meeting of representatives of the department was held with students of grades 9, 10, 11 and teachers of physics and mathematics in the shelter of school No. 1.
Future students were presented with the specialty "Computational Engineering in Mechanics", namely: admission requirements, study specifics, opportunities for academic mobility, prospects for scientific and pedagogical activity and employment.
Separately, as part of the students' interest in the activities of the STEM Center, a speech was given by a graduate of the center, a 1st-year student, Rozhkov Maksymilian. The student's report was aimed at getting students interested in studying the initial sections of theoretical mechanics and resistance of materials.
Results of the rating of structural units of Sumy State University in 2023
On May 9, 2024, a regular meeting of the academic council of Sumy State University took place, during which the winners of the rating of the university's structural units were recognized. The Volodymyr Martsynkovskyy Computational Mechanics Department, of the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies, was awarded honorary diplomas:
- for achieving the 2nd place in the department ranking based on performance results;
- for securing the 2nd place in the competition "Best Unit based on scientific activity results" in the category "Best Departments";
- for attaining the 3rd place in the competition "Best Unit based on international activity results" in the category "Best Departments".
In total, 55 departments of the university participated in the selection process, thus confirming the high quality of the department's activities in all areas.

XI All-Ukrainian Scientific and Technical Conference at Sumy State University: MODERN TECHNOLOGIES IN INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION
From April 23 to April 26, 2024, the XI All-Ukrainian Scientific and Technical Conference "Modern Technologies in Industrial Production" took place at Sumy State University. One of the events of the conference was the session "Dynamics and Strength, Computer Mechanics," which was held on April 24, 2024, at the Department of Computer Mechanics named after Volodymyr Marchynkovsky. Participants discussed the latest advancements in this field, exchanged experiences, and explored opportunities for future collaboration.
